"Ivory Tower" Knowledge Question

To what extent does emotion diminish validity in the human sciences?

  1. Developing this Knowledge Question would probably involve looking at how emotion interacts with the human sciences, and seeing in what ways and how badly those interactions negatively impact the soundness of human sciences. The Knowledge Question is broad enough for any number of real life situations in the Human sciences to apply, from psychology to economics, which would be useful in finding and citing evidence for the knowledge question while developing it. For the Real life situations of "The Ivory Tower," one example could be the emotions felt by people as they look at possible debt, or the debt they already had. Perhaps it could be argued out that peoples emotions about a college education diminishes or distorts the value of any research on the value of college. Some extensions could also come from comparing how emotion is viewed in the natural sciences compared to in the human sciences. This is a really nice question that could be developed far beyond what I have attempted to do. :)
